The geographical location of Quito, on the eastern slopes of the Pichincha, a vulcano in the Andes mountains, is regarded as one of the most beautiful regions of Latin-America. Within the city, the old architecture of wonderfully restaurated churches and cloisters contrasts well with the more modern parts of the city, thus giving the city the appeal of a metropole with great cultural diversity.
