The three districts called Quindio (capital: Armenia), Risaraldo (capital: Pereira) and Caldas (capital: Manizales) together form the so-called ‘Eje Cafetero’, which translates as ‘the coffee region’: in these three districts most of Colombia’s famous coffee is cultivated.
