Ecological Vacations

While listening to the singing of birds, tourists can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this region’s natural scenery. Among Eje Cafetero’s natural sights are a number of national parks and ecological systems that are of vital importance for the natural environment. There are also the animal zoo Pereiro, sanctuaries of animal and vegetable life and misty landscapes where one can enjoy taking walking trips between majestic trees and lively views while at the same time discovering the region’s customs and culture.

It is also possible to visit the botanical garden, with over 600 different types of plants and trees, all filled with insects, or the butterfly garden, where live more than 1500 butterflies of thirty different varieties. Yet another sight to see are the hot springs, where, in the midst of gorgeous natural scenery, one can enjoy healing waters which help to relieve many illnesses.

There are finally also a number of important thematic parks, such as the national coffee park, the Panaca (national park of agriculture) and Mama Lulú’s farm, where the people live entirely self-reliant, using solely natural resources.
