Besides birds, also spectacled bears and a great variety of snakes make their home in the Parque de los Farallones. Among them are the Verrugosa, the Cabezo de Candado, the lance-head pit vipers, the Dendrobates, which is one the most poisonous frogs around, and the Mambore, known for its huge size.

It is also possible to go whale-watching. When the northern waters cool down one can behold one of the most marvellous spectacles nature has on offer: the arrival of whales in search of warming water where they can give birth to their young. This natural spectacle may be witnessed between July and October. Cali also has one of the major zoos of Southern America.
